The Stimulus Package Is Not Going To Help Much
Well, the stimulus package has passed, and I don’t see much of anything in there that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. The best we can hope for, in my opinion, is more a smooth crash landing for the economy rather than a volatile, crazy, scary near term crash. The fact remains that people (myself included) have spent and borrowed too much and have failed to live within their means. Now it’s time for a reckoning, so be prepared.
Now is a great time to shore up your family’s financial position. Work to remove debt, live on (much) less than you earn, and put together a basic contingency plan for a job loss or other major financial event in the near future.
