Signaling You’re Done With A Meal
How do you tell your brain that you’re done eating? Have you ever thought about that? If your body clearly indicates to you that you’re full, I supposed that signal came from the brain and therefore your brain knows that you’re done eating.
For me though I don’t really ever feel full. I’ve felt sick from over eating, but even then I don’t feel full per se. I just feel sick from eating crappy foods.
So consider this. If you’re like me and don’t usually feel full after a meal (or ever), try brushing your teeth after eating. Or eat a mint or chew gum. Try to do something consistently at the end of each meal and see if that helps shut off the “keep eating” thoughts. On a personal note I think brushing your teeth will probably work best (since it doesn’t involve eating or chewing), but this can be cumbersome if you eat several small meals a day or travel for your job.
