More Tips On How To Practice Eating Slowly
As I’ve mentioned before learning to eat slowly takes both time and practice. Below are a few exercises I’ve that helped me solidify this new, difficult habit:
- Eat by yourself when you can. This is only necessary for a few days or weeks until you feel comfortable eating slowly on your own.
- Begin monitoring how many times you typically chew your food, and then try to increase that number.
- Count the number of times you chew each bite, and set a goal before you start eating. Try for 30 – 50. I’m not sure what the best goal should be, but I know that I’m typically a very fast eater and rarely take more than ten chews when I eat food I really like.
